Doing it for Monty (Nov. 9, 2009)
This week's video, once again produced by our friends at Athletic Videos for College, features Rob Stevens' sudden-death goal in the second overtime to give the Arlington High School boys' soccer team a 1-0 win over Horace Greeley for the Section One, Class AA championship.
The win kept the Admirals unbeaten at 19-0-1, and kept alive their hope to give 31-year head coach Gary Montalto a state title in his final season before he retires.
More magic from the Kardiac Kids (Oct. 24, 2009)
Down by 11 points, late fourth quarter, Cinderella season all but over, right?
Wrong.
Remember, we're talking the Arlington High School football team here, kings of the last-minute comebacks this fall.
Our latest video shows the highlights from the Admirals' stirring 31-27 Section One, Class AA quarterfinal win over Carmel last Friday, including the two late TDs that pushed Arlington into this Saturday's semifinal at North Rockland.
Thanks once again to our friends at the locally based Athletic Videos for College for providing the video.

Touchdowns, goals and the elements (October 21, 2009)
Thanks once again to our friends at the locally based Athletic Videos for College, we have some new video highlights at Hudson Valley Sports Report.
The first shows Ketcham's Mo Cuevas breaking loose on a long touchdown run in the Indians' 35-0 win over Gorton last week.
The second shows a beautiful goal by the Ketcham soccer team in its win -- in the rain and snow -- over John Jay, as goalie Tyler Bliss boots a long ball that Matt Garcia runs on for the score.
Finally, the third has the goal by Cody Farrier that gave Arlington boys' soccer a 2-1 double overtime win against RCK.
HVSR Highlight Reel (October 7, 2009)
This week’s HVSR video, produced by our friends at Athletic Videos For College, is a highlight reel from the previous week in high school sports.
And, yeah, it’s pretty cool.
There were some big games in the Hudson Valley last week, and the highlights include a little bit of everything:
- Brandon Ercoli of John Jay football, using his power running against Ketcham.
- A great spike by Red Hook volleyball standout Danielle Girard in a match against Highland
- A killer block by Highland’s Monaisa Bolduc in the same game.
- A short goal by Arlington soccer star Alycia Cartica
- A long goal by John Jay soccer star Sam McGuire
- Kairi Alston’s 60-yard touchdown run for Highland against Red Hook.
- And much, much more.
We hope you enjoy these weekly videos. We've archived them on a new page, Weekly Videos, starting with our first video -- Arlington's amazing comeback against John Jay in football two weeks ago.
And don’t forget to check out www.athleticvideosforcollege.com. This is a local company that puts together highlight reels of local athletes trying to get noticed by college coaches.
